Indiana Black Expo honored those who have made an impact in the black community Friday during its annual corporate luncheon.

DuJuan McCoy, president and CEO of Circle City Broadcasting, was honored as entrepreneur of the year.

“It means everything in the world for me to get this award,” he says.

McCoy recently bought WISH-TV and WNDY-TV.

“It is an opportunity for me to come back home and own television stations, and to affect the communities in which I was raised,” he says.

Teddy Riley, a singer, songwriter and record producer, received the Lifetime Achievement Award. Pamela Ross, Central Indiana Community Foundation vice president of opportunity, equity and inclusion, was recognized with the Charles R. Williams Excellence Award.

Tanya Bell, president & CEO at Indiana Black Expo, Inc., thanked the award recipients for what they’ve done to improve lives and shape African American culture and history.
